Corruption is a serious social problem. It is the main obstacle to the development. Nature of Corruption is multi dimensional. It often occurs at the Nexus of different areas and sectors. Corruption makes Government poor. Corruption has been a hindrance for the political reforms. Corruption weakens the accountability, transparency and good governance. Corruption has trickled into not only the private sector but also public sector. Corruption slows down the development activities. It discourages the spirit of skilled and honest citizen.Corruption effects the fair distribution of resources and opportunities negatively. Corruption doesn't let democracy function well. It creates the social , economic and political crisis in the country. It also creates problem in the poverty reduction programmes of government. We know that corruption will not disappear from our society. Out efforts are meant to restrict corruption and to protect as much as possible the poor and weak in the societies. If we citizens don't control corruption, development can't be possible as expected. Thus, corruption is one of the main obstacle for development.
