<h3><u>Answer:</u></h3>

Option: B is the correct answer.

B) 25

<h3><u>Step-by-step explanation:</u></h3>

Joel is getting a dog, a cat, and a hamster.

He goes to the pet store and can choose from 8 dogs, 12 cats, and 5 hamsters.

i.e. the total number of combinations that are possible could be calculated with the help of Combination as:

8_C_1+12_C_1+5_C_1

We know that:

n_C_r=\dfrac{n!}{(n-r)!r!}

Hence, the value of 8_C_1\times 12_C_1\times 5_C_1 is:

=\dfrac{8!}{(8-1)!1!}+\dfrac{12!}{(12-1)!1!}+\dfrac{5!}{(5-1)!1!}\\\\\\=\dfrac{8!}{7!}+\dfrac{12!}{11!}+\dfrac{5!}{4!}\\\\=8+12+5\\\\=25

Hence, the number of combinations is:

25

Solve for y- 6y-1.5x=8
VARVARA [1.3K]

6y-1.5x=8\qquad\text{add 1.5x to both sides}\\\\6y=1.5x+8\qquad\text{divide both sides by 6}\\\\y=\dfrac{1.5}{6}x+\dfrac{8}{6}\\\\y=\dfrac{15}{60}x+\dfrac{4}{3}\\\\\boxed{y=\dfrac{1}{4}x+\dfrac{4}{3}}

Can someone help me with questions 2 and 3 pls?
bija089 [108]

1 cup = 1/2 pint, so where it says 4 cups we'll just read 2 pints.

1.  In one show we serve 30 × 2 pints of small and 42 × 6 pints of regular.

Total = 30 × 2 + 42 × 6 =  60 + 252 = 312 pints

Answer: 312 pints

2. 8 pints per gallon, 2 gallons per container makes 16 pints per container.

312 pints / 16 pints per container = 19.5 containers

We round up since we need a whole number of containers.

Answer: 20 containers

We can't really see question 3.
