What were your predicted results for glucose transport in the presence of DNP? Briefly state the physiologic basis for your pred
Olegator [25]

Answer:

Prediction results for glucose transport in the presence of Dinitrophenol (DNP) are as following:

  1. Decreased transport of glucose
  2. DNP disrupts the gradient of protons and the output of ATP
  3. ATP needed for the Na+/K+ pump to the est. Gradient Na+
  4. The gradient required for Sodium-glucose cotransporters (SGLTs)

Dinitrophenol (DNP) is an uncoupler, or is capable of separating electron flow and H+ ion pumping for ATP synthesis. This means that ATP synthesis can not use the energy from electron transfer, hence it will support in lab as well.

Alla [95]

Answer:

ATP production.

Explanation:

The result will be the production of ATP molecules if we place thylakoids in a beaker with a solution that mimics the chloroplast stroma in direct sunlight. The thylakoids are able to formed ATP in the dark because H+ gradient is required for ATP synthesis. The scientists find out that the light reactions were not necessary to establish the H+ gradient required for ATP synthesis by ATP synthase.
