Answer:

Explanation:

Mass accumulates. Two rocks hit each other in space, and a little bit of rock "A" sticks to rock "B". This happens again and again..sooner or later, rock "B" has enough mass so that its gravity is now stronger than any other mass within shouting distance, so as rocks get closer to it, they tend to smash in to the big rock rather than fly off into space...given enough time, you get a rocky old planet like Earth. The gravity even affect atomic particles..so you get some H and a couple of O's and before you know it, you got water. The same basic thing works with gaseous planets, except that they don't collect rocks, they collect gas.

How did the battles change the course of the war? Which side had a favorable outcome for the battles?
seropon [69]

Two large armies met in the southern Pennsylvanian town of Gettysburg in the early days of July 1863. The engagement, which started as a skirmish between Union cavalry and Confederate troops searching for supplies, turned into one of the Civil War's bloodiest conflicts.

The final Union triumph at Gettysburg would significantly improve North morale and put a stop to Confederate General Robert E. Lee's audacious plan to invade the North. The fight, which is frequently cited as a crucial turning point in the conflict, would gain even more significance later that year when President Abraham Lincoln visited Gettysburg to dedicate the cemetery on the battlefield.

The cavalry regiments were scouting ahead to learn more about the enemy position even while the majority of the Army of the Potomac was still in Maryland, following Lincoln's instructions to remain in Maryland to maintain a buffer between Washington and the rebel army. The Confederate soldiers originally withdrew to Cashtown, but on July 1 they made the decision to return to Gettysburg and acquire the supplies they required, even if it meant confronting the Union troop.

What role does the character of Jim play in revealing a central idea of thestory?A. Jim is the catalyst for the main conflict th
svetoff [14.1K]

Jim in the story play a character resembling achetypal hero who sacrifices for the good of his family.

Explanation:

Jim in the story is represented as a hero who led Huck and the family through all times. He has been portrayed as a man of intelligence and compassion but gullible nature. This nature of his is inferred to his upbringing in a regressive surrounding.

Jim is further represented as superstitious (a reference to his ominous warning of rain when struck on the island) but this superstition is, in turn, his deep understanding of the mother nature. Jim through all twist and turns has acted as a surrogate father to Huck.

He cooks, shelters him, guides him and cares for him. However, Jim remains at the mercy of every other character of the story. Even the tiny Huck threatens him (letter to Miss Watson). He acts as the most matured member of the family and sets an example for others to follow.
