A civilization must have a protected food supply. So the geographical conditions that constitute an area for good farming would be a necessity. Also, make it certain that the rivers around are not going to dry up or freeze over every year. The civilization must have abundant farmland, game, and food supplies. Geographic conditions help to control the development of civilizations by allowing permanent settlements, fertilization for crops, and a constant water supply.

The civilizations of Olmec, Aztec, Incas and Indian Tribes are not that early compared to most. But any civilization needs to have a protected food supply. So a geography that comprises an area for good farming would be a requirement. Also, make it certain that the river you selected to live by is not going to dry up or freeze over every year.

What type of map is best suited for maritime navigation? A. Topographic B. Geologic C. Mercator projection D. Conic projection
DerKrebs [107]

The best answer is C.

Mercator projection is a type of map projection invented and introduced by Gerardus Mercator in the year 1569. The meridians are equally spaced, parallel vertical lines and the parallels of latitude are parallel horizontal lines spaced farther apart as their distance from the equator increases.

This projection is widely used for navigation charts because any straight line on a Mercator- projection map is a line of constant true bearing that enables a navigator to plot a straight-line course.

It is often described as a cylindrical projection  but it must be derived mathematically.
