Rachel found the masses of three rocks for a science project. The first rock had a mass of 19.28 grams, the second rock had a ma

ss of 25.3 grams, and the third rock had a mass of 46.3 grams. How much greater was the mass of the third rock than the combined mass of the other two rocks?

1st rock = 19.28 grams

2nd rock = 25.30 grams

3rd rock = 46.3 grams

Add 1st and 2nd rock to get the combined mass

19.28 + 25.30 = 44.58 combined mass of 1st and 2nd rock

Subtract:

3rd rock mass  - combined mass of 1st and 2nd rock

46.30 - 44.58 = 1.72 grams

1.72 grams greater was the mass of the 3rd rock than the combined mass of the two rocks.

A jar contains balls numbered 1 to 10. Two balls are drawn with replacement. What is the probability that both balls are numbere
Elenna [48]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The number of ways that you can draw 2 balls without restriction is 10 * 10 = 100

Two balls will give you 2 or less (meaning 1) or 2*2 = 4

Four ways are possible

2  and 2

2 and 1

1 and 2

1 and 1

4/100 = 1/25 is the probability of making this happen.

Find the surface area of each figure (spheres and hemispheres)
xenn [34]

Answer:

7. 1520.53 cm²

8. 232.35 ft²

9. 706.86 m²

10. 4,156.32 mm²

11. 780.46 m²

12. 1,847.25 mi²

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall:

Surface area of sphere = 4πr²

Surface area of hemisphere = 2πr² + πr²

7. r = 11 cm

Plug in the value into the appropriate formula

Surface area of the sphere = 4*π*11² = 1520.53 cm² (nearest tenth)

8. r = ½(8.6) = 4.3 ft

Plug in the value into the appropriate formula

Surface area of the sphere = 4*π*4.3² = 232.35 ft² (nearest tenth)

9. r = ½(15) = 7.5 m

Surface area of the sphere = 4*π*7.5² = 706.86 m² (nearest tenth)

10. r = ½(42) = 21 mm

Plug in the value into the formula

Surface area of hemisphere = 2*π*21² + π*21² = 2,770.88 + 1,385.44

= 4,156.32 mm²

11. r = 9.1 m

Plug in the value into the formula

Surface area of hemisphere = 2*π*9.1² + π*9.1² = 520.31 + 260.15

= 780.46 m²

12. r = 14 mi

Plug in the value into the formula

Surface area of hemisphere = 2*π*14² + π*14² = 1,231.50 + 615.75

= 1,847.25 mi²

The volume of an oblique pyramid with a square base is V units3 and the height is h units.
TiliK225 [7]
The volume of a quadrangular base pyramid is:
 V = (1/3) * (Ab) * (h)
 Where,
 Ab: base area
 h: height
Clearing the area of the base we have:
 Ab = (3 * V) / (h)
 Answer:

An expression that represents the area of the base of the pyramid is:
