How do you work a percentage problem

Mathematics
1 answer:

Answer:

Some percents are easy to figure. Here are a few:

Finding 100% of a number: Remember that 100% means the whole thing, so 100% of any number is simply the number itself:

100% of 5 is 5

100% of 91 is 91

100% of 732 is 732

Finding 50% of a number: Remember that 50% means half, so to find 50% of a number, just divide it by 2:

50% of 20 is 10

50% of 88 is 44

Finding 25% of a number: Remember that 25% equals 1/4, so to find 25% of a number, divide it by 4:

25% of 40 is 10

25% of 88 is 22

Here’s a trick that makes certain tough-looking percent problems so easy that you can do them in your head. Simply move the percent sign from one number to the other and flip the order of the numbers.

Suppose someone wants you to figure out the following:

88% of 50

Finding 88% of anything isn’t an activity that anybody looks forward to. But an easy way of solving the problem is to switch it around:

88% of 50 = 50% of 88

This move is perfectly valid, and it makes the problem a lot easier. As you learned above, 50% of 88 is simply half of 88:

88% of 50 = 50% of 88 = 44

As another example, suppose you want to find

7% of 200

Again, finding 7% is tricky, but finding 200% is simple, so switch the problem around:

7% of 200 = 200% of 7

Above, you learned that to find 200% of any number, you just multiply that number by 2:

7% of 200 = 200% of 7 = 2 7 = 14

Hope this helps you!!

You could solve all the equations to see if a letter matches the question's request if you're into trail and error. Simply multiply each integer in one pair of parentheses by each individual in another, a box could help you with this (like a box in third grade showing what numbers shown on one side multiplied by numbers on the intersecting side are)

The answer: If you're looking for the answer, continue below

The answer would be "B";
(x-2)(x^2+2x+4) could be rearranged into..
-2(x^2+2x+4) + x(x^2+2x+4) when, when distributed is..
(-2x^2-4x-8) + (x^3+2x^2+4x) which is then added..
x^3+8

There was some additional simplifying and adding, but you should understand it.

The factor of the polynomial, the area of the pool and the simplified expression are all algebraic expressions

How to simplify the expressions?

Factor of the polynomial

The polynomial is given as:

2x^3 + 6x^2 + 6x + 18

Factor out 2

2x^3 + 6x^2 + 6x + 18 = 2(x^3 + 3x^2 + 3x + 9)

Factorize

2x^3 + 6x^2 + 6x + 18 = 2(x^2(x + 3) + 3(x + 3))

Factor out x + 3

2x^3 + 6x^2 + 6x + 18 = 2(x^2 + 3)(x + 3)

Expand

2x^3 + 6x^2 + 6x + 18 = (2x^2 + 6)(x + 3)

Hence, 2x^2 + 6 is a factor of the polynomial 2x^3 + 6x^2 + 6x + 18

The length of the pool

The given parameters are:

Area = 2x^3 - 29x + 12

Width = x + 4

The length is calculated as:

Length = Area/Width

This gives

Length = 2x^2 - 29x + 12/x + 4

Factorize the numerator

Length = (2x^2 - 8x + 3)(x + 4)/x + 4

Cancel out x + 4

Length = 2x^2 - 8x + 3

Hence, the length of the pool is 2x^2 - 8x + 3

Simplify the expression

The expression is given as:

(3s^2 - 2s + 1) \div (s^2 - s + 2)

Evaluate the quotient

3 + (s - 5)/(s^2 - 5 + 2)

Hence, the simplified expression is 3 + (s - 5)/(s^2 - 5 + 2)

sineoko [7]

Answer: a) 2092278989 b) 576, c) \dfrac{576}{2092278989}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of students = 16

Number of desks = 16

a) How many days must pass before the class must repeat a seating arrangement?

16!=2092278989

If the number of rows = 4

b) How many seating arrangements are there that put Larry, Moe, Curly, and Shemp in the front seats?

4!\times 4!\\\\=24\times 24\\\\=576

c) How many seating arrangements are there that put Larry, Moe, Curly, and Shemp in the front seats?

\dfrac{576}{2092278989}

Hence, a) 2092278989 b) 576, c) \dfrac{576}{2092278989}
