The Cuban value system is closely associated with the socialism value system. The Cubans have been shaped by a system that views, housing, education, medical care, and guaranteed employment as basic human rights, which is very opposite to the values of the so called 'western world'.

One of the main transportation challenges for people living in extremely cold climates is __________. A. railway tracks that con
LuckyWell [14K]

The correct answer is - B. waterways that are frozen over half the year.

The people that live in areas that have extremely cold climates face numerous problems because of the very low temperatures, long-lasting ice and snow. One of the big problems is the traveling. The waterways are an effective way of transport in this areas, being without obstacles, going over large distances, relatively cheap. The problem is that for over half a year, this main transportation mean is not usable because it is frozen. While that makes it easier to get from one side of the river to another by simply walking over the ice, the people are not able to use the water for travel, thus they have to go to slower, more dangerous ways to travel.

Explanation:

Sahel is the region to the south of Sahara Desert in the northern part of Africa, and it streches from Atlantic coast in the west (Mauritania) to Red Sea coast in the east (Sudan). It is some 5,500 kilometers wide.

In the attached map Sahel is shown in yellow color, and it is part of Dry Zone (more precisely Semi-arid climate). Semi-arid climate means that this is transitional zone between dry desert in the north and seasonally wet African savannas in the south.
