Answer is Y because humans who eat the rice can also develop the same gene.

Rice is a staple food crop over half of the world's population. But rice is deficient of vitamin A. Rice with vitamin A producing gene is more advantageous for the people who are deficient in vitamin A. Hence,  method Y is more advantageous because humans who eat rice can develop the same gene.
