HELP ASAP!!! The biotechnological methods used by two geneticists on a high-yielding rice variety are described below. Method X:

Increased the rice yield by combining genetically similar rice varieties over several years Method Y: Inserted the vitamin A production gene from carrot in the rice Which method is likely to be more advantageous? Method Y because it increases the gene pool Method X because it protects the variety from diseases Method X because it increases long-term survival of the variety Method Y because humans who eat the rice can also develop the same gene

Answer is Y because humans who eat the rice can also develop the same gene.

Rice is a staple food crop over half of the world's population. But rice is deficient of vitamin A. Rice with vitamin A producing gene is more advantageous for the people who are deficient in vitamin A. Hence,  method Y is more advantageous because humans who eat rice can develop the same gene.

In a population of doves in a forest, a small group of long-tailed doves migrates to another forest. Over successive generations
tino4ka555 [31]
The bottleneck effect occurs when the majority of a population is destroyed due to natural disasters or human activity's. This reduces the size of the gene pool resulting in smaller variations from bird to bird. Gene mutation is the permanent change in the DNA or gene. Stabilizing selection occurs when genetic diversity decreases and the majority of the population stabilizes on a specific trait. The Founder effect occurs due to a smaller population leaving a larger population. This leaves the smaller population with smaller genetic variations. The correct answer is the Founder effect.
