A shield volcano is one that has shield formation by the lava and the magma that is ejected from the mouth of the volcano and has a fluid lava flow and its viscosity top flow is high.
They are not as explosive as the stratovolcanoes and thus are less dangerous and the other highly destructive types volcanoes. Located in the Hawaii island these volcanoes have an aʻā and pāhoehoe flow.
Their lava flow can be anywhere between the 2 to 20 m thick
