A textbook company keeps track of its daily cost for printing whole textbooks to different schools, but can only print up to 500

books a day. The daily cost (C) to print x number of textbooks is given by C(x) = 3.50x + 1200.
A.Using the function, determine one possible daily cost by evaluating the function for any input of your choice.
B.For what value of x does C(x) = 1900?
C.Interpret the statement C(20) = 1270.
D.Interpret the statement C(w) = p.
E.Explain whether C(40.5) = 1341.75 is correct and possible given the context of this problem.

Part A: Chose some value for x, that means any amount of books to print for example 100 books, so x=100
Replace x=100 in C(x) and solve:
C(100)=3.5*100+1200=1550
Part B: Replace C(x) by 1900 and solve for x from the given equation:
1900=3.5x+1200
3.5x=1900-1200
x=700/3.5= 200
Part C: the statement C(20)=1270 means that 1270 is the cost for printing 20 books.
Part E: C(40.5)=1341.75 I think this statement is incorrect given the context because x means number of books to print so this value must be an integer number.

Answer:

The first one is No. The second one I do not know unfortunately.

Step-by-step explanation:

I am in the middle of this lesson in my math class as well and I know that in order to make a triangle, you need the two smaller sides to add up to become larger than the biggest side. In the case of the first question, the two smaller sides, 6 and 3 equal 9, which is not bigger than the biggest side which is 10. I hope you can find the answer to the second one, but for now, the first one is No.
