Describe how the plasma membrane controls what goes into and comes out of a cell
Verizon [17]

Answer:

The cell membrane controls what goes in and out by having protein channels that act like funnels in some cases and pumps in other cases. Passive transport does not require energy molecules and happens when a funnel opens in the membrane, letting molecules flow through.

2. A certain recessive, lethal gene is carried on the X chromosome. (Lethal genes are those that result in death.) A man marries
son4ous [18]
The surviving children would be 66.7% female and 33.3% male. Of the female children, 50% would be expected to be carriers of this gene (like their mother)
| Xg | X
—————-
X | XXg | XX
—————-
Y | XgY | XY

Pretty ugly, but the best punnet square I can do without a link. The offspring with the “g” are those that carry the lethal gene. The male child that carries it will die, but since it is recessive, the female child will live but will be a carrier for this gene. I hope this helps.

What condition occurs if there is decreased kidney elimination of hydrogen ions or increased production of acidic substances thr
Darina [25.2K]
The correct answer is metabolic acidosis.

Metabolic acidosis is a condition that occurs when there are excessive quantities of acid in the body. Another cause is when the kidneys are not removing enough acid (H+) from the body because of the inability to form bicarbonate (HCO3−). Metabolic acidosis can lead to acidemia (low blood pH).
