Well, first of all, America's leaders did not want to draft a 'national constitution' at this time. I think you're getting this confused with the Deceleration of Independence.

In 1776, the leaders wanted to officially declare independence from the country which they beat in the war--Great Brian. Essentially, the document outlines why these folks wanted to be their own nation. It details their complaints of King George III.

Answer choices are:

A. It would force Britain to recognize their independence.

B. The Second Continental Congress had no legal authority as a national government.

C. A national constitution would provide an example for the state constitutions.

Correct answer choices are:

B. The Second Continental Congress had no legal authority as a national government.

Explanation:

The Articles formed a vague confederation of sovereign nations and a limited central government, giving most of the control with the state governments. The demand for an influential Federal government shortly became manifest and ultimately directed to the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

American leaders required to draft a state constitution to set law and to show organization in the nation. In reality, without the constitution, we wouldn't have the country of control we have now. If you think about it, without the constitution, people that aspire to become administrators could improve the way that this nation is governed, and hence there is no understanding what could result without the law.
