The excerpt from "The Girl Who Silenced the World for Five Minutes that creates a shameful tone is Even when we have more than enough, we are afraid to lose some of our wealth.

A shameful tone can make us understands that what we are doing is scandalous. And here we can see how a little girl makes an adult think about how selfish we are that we what to have it all at any cost.

The other options don't use shame in their intention, some are too soft or mere facts that are presented to demonstrate the point of the speech

blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

C). The formation of acetic acid during wine production was due to the presence of contaminating microbes.

Explanation:

Pasteur's work focused on examining the 'French wine industry' to determine/conclude the required time as well as the temperature that would assist in killing/destroying the detrimental bacteria present in the wine without altering its taste. This process was later categorized as 'pasteurization'.

As per the question, Pasteur's work would prove all of the following except option C as it asserts an incorrect claim regarding 'The formation of acetic acid during wine production was due to the presence of contaminating microbes' as the conversion of ethanol present in wine leads to the formation of acetic acid. Therefore, Except options C all the options assert true claims.

What message is George Orwell sending in Animal Farm and how does he use satire to convey this message to his audience?
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

George Orwell is comparing the farm animals to the Soviet Union. He is trying to convey the idea of power and the demoralization that comes along with it. He communicates irony with the readers through the animals being 'punished' for being power hungry. The animals end up mistreating each other, due to their infatuation for authority. Satire is used to show the selfishness of the animals. The power makes them hypocrites for using the same punishments that they hated when they were used against themselves. Irony is shown through the denseness of the society they live in. The readers know a lot more about what is happening in the story, than the characters do.
