Answer:

Blood sugar level is controlled by two hormones secreted by pancreas, Insulin and Glucagon. insulin is secreted by beta cells of islets of langerhans and glucagon is secreted by alpha cells. Glucagon regulate the blood sugar level by increasing the sugar level in blood while insulin decreases the sugar level in blood when excess sugar is present in blood.

Explanation:

If blood sugar level is high, pancreatic hormone insulin allows cells to give entry to glucose molecules. It binds on the insulin receptors present on cell allowing sugar molecule to get inside for energy.

Liver also plays very important role to maintain sugar level in blood. When blood sugar is high, insulin receptors on hepatic cells allow blood sugar to store in cells, Glucose in liver cells store in the form of glycogen.

In starvation when blood glucose level is low glucagon stimulates hepatic cells to convert glycogen into glucose molecule, to raise sugar level in blood stream.
