Take first derivative of area function and set it to zero

da/dx=24 - 2x=0

Now it is set to zero add -2x to both side

24 - 2x = 0

24 = 2x

Now divide by 2 in both sides

12 = Width

Your width now is 12

Plug 12 into you equation like this:

24 (12) - 12^2= A

288 - 144 = A

144 = Area

144 feets is the maximum area using the width 24

I'm totally lost. How do I do this?
Mkey [24]
Don't get confused by the "0.01 cm" that's just telling you to round to the hundredths place. Moving on, the shaded area's exterior shows us that it is a square. Meaning you do s^2 to find the area. So, you find the square root of 15 which is <span>3.87... This means the diameter is also 3.87 because the diameter is equivalent to the side's measurement. Divide 3.87 by 2 to find the radius, giving you 1.935. This represents OT's length. Now, just round to the hundredths giving you 1.94 cm. </span>

Suppose that demand in period 1 was 7 units and the demand in period 2 was 9 units. Assume that the forecast for period 1 was fo
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Forecast for period 1 is 5

Demand For Period 1 is 7

Demand for Period  2 is 9

Forecast  can be given by

F_{t+1}=F_t+\alpha (D_t-F_t)

where

F_{t+1}=Future Forecast

F_t=Present\ Period\ Forecast

D_t=Present\ Period\ Demand

\alpha =smoothing\ constant

F_{t+1}=5+0.2(7-5)

F_{t+1}=5.4

Forecast for Period 3

F_{t+2}=F_{t+1}+\alpha (D_{t+1}-F_{t+1})

F_{t+2}=5.4+0.2\cdot (9-5.4)

F_{t+2}=6.12

What is the equation shown in the graph? Explain your answer.
Yuliya22 [10]

Answer:

y=x

Step-by-step explanation:

The graph is going 1 up and 1 to the right. You can plug in a value for x and get y. So if you plug in 1 for x, you get 1 for y and if u plug in 2 for x, you get 2 for y, so when you graph (1, 1) and (2, 2) you know the graph is y=x.
