I believe the correct answer is to heal. We can see in the excerpt how this person went from feeling afraid to feeling very secure and at home. The excerpt is not really trying to persuade us to do anything; I don't see what it can teach us because there is no strong message; if it were to entertain, I assume it would be more lighthearted and happy which it is not in the beginning.
