disruptive selection differ? see section 23.3 (page 463) . with stabilizing selection, the phenotype for a trait does not influence survival. with disruptive selection, the phenotype for a trait affects survival. stabilizing selection reduces the amount of variation in a trait. disruptive selection increases the amount of variation in a trait. with stabilizing selection, extreme individuals have high biological fitness. with disruptive selection, extreme individuals have low biological fitness. stabilizing selection produces adaptation. disruptive selection is nonadaptive?

The correct answer is stabilizing selection reduces the amount of variation in a trait. disruptive selection increases the amount of variation in a trait.

Stabilizing selection is a type of natural selection in which genetic diversity decreases because natural selection favours an average phenotype and selects against extreme variations.

Disruptive selection is a type of natural selection in which extreme values for a trait are favoured over intermediate values, thus it increases genetic variance.

Answer:

Natural selection in evolution:

Living beings adapts to certain environmental factors all in different ways most of the time and many beings are alike in doing so. As some of the living beings can adapt to certain environmental factors while others can not follow the same pathway and may lead to the results of extinction. Different organisms are treated in more diverse form by the environment in which it lives.

But, the nature selection is carried in three main pathways or patterns, as they are as follows:

 1. The stabilizing selection,
 2. The directional selection,
 3. The disruptive selection.

Explanation:

 • Stabilizing form of selection:

In the stabilizing form or pathway for natural selection the organisms selected for evolution possess less diversity among them, as most of them are selected are average individuals inside the population.

As the phenotype for a trait does not influence survival. with disruptive selection, the phenotype for a trait affects survival. Along, with that stabilizing selection reduces the amount of variation in a trait.

 • Disruptive form of natural selection:

The disruptive form of natural selection comprises of variations inside the genetics of the species in order to adopt to certain environmental factors. As there is diversity among the genotype of the species inside the given population.Disruptive selection is more adaptive in nature.

After 3 half lifes how many c-14 atoms would remain
ipn [44]

Answer:

Halife of C-14 is=14(RAM÷2)

You get=7 but further more let's say after 3 half life as your question stated it may result to decimal something which is impossible (as nucleons never be decimal)

Hence after 3half life it will continue to be 7

1. In addition to mechanical and chemical digestion of food, the stomach's other major function is: carbohydrate and nucleic aci
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer: Food storage

Explanation:

Stomach is a small pouch like structure which has the ability to store food temporarily. The storage of the food temporarily takes place in the stomach. The food that we eat reaches to the stomach by the help of food pipe.

Here, the food is stored until it is completely broken down into simpler form and enzymes act on them.

The food is then absorbed in the small intestine. But before this food is temporarily stored in the stomach where all the digestive juices and enzymes come to act on the food.

In general, why might cell-wall inhibiting antimicrobial drugs be less effective on gram-negative bacteria compared to gram-posi
asambeis [7]

Cell-wall inhibiting antimicrobial drugs be less effective on gram-negative bacteria compared to gram-positive bacteria because the outer membrane of the gram-negative bacteria inhibits penetration of the drug and the peptidoglycan found in gram-positive bacteria is structurally different from that in gram-negative bacteria.

Answer: Option B & C

Explanation:

Antimicrobial drugs are induced into a body to act on that particular selective bacterium which causes disease. When antimicrobial drugs are injected they act efficiently on the gram positive bacteria inhibiting the proliferation of the cells by acting on the cell wall so that cell multiplication doesn’t happen.

On the other hand it is hard to act on the gram-negative bacteria as it has a cell membrane that inhibits drug penetration into it. Both cell walls contain peptidoglycan but in the gram-positive is more assembled and layered while in the gram-negative it is just a thin layer. As gram-positive is thick layered it provides place for another molecule to attach to it but the thin layer in gram-negative inhibits it.
