Progressive vs Advanced - What's the difference?
Julli [10]

Answer:

Progressive implies something that is happening in stages, while Advanced implies that the stage has moved forward to a large extent.

Explanation:

Progressive and advanced are both adjectives used to describe the stages of an event or activity. Progressive implies continuity or the ongoing state of the activity. It also connotes the idea of something that is meeting up to current trends. For example, the old Professor has progressive knowledge of Information Technology. Advanced refers to the fact that the activity has progressed to a far stage.

Progressive: The ailment is progressive.

Advanced: The ailment is advanced.

1. The main character in each story in this unit is an ordinary person who faces extraordinary circumstances he or she cannot co
olga_2 [115]

Well, you're going to talk about the conflicts in The Lottery and The Lady or the Tiger... So... in The Lottery, the main conflict was that the lady (whatever her name was) was chosen to be stoned in the lottery. It wasn't really resolved in anyway, except that she got.. stoned. I haven't read The Lady or the Tiger, but you would do the same thing for that. Then you would state the theme, or moral, or main point, of each story. And then you would compare how the resolutions for both conflicts demonstrate the stories' themes.. Does it make a bit more sense?

In 5 sentences.share your idea about the importance of giving expanded difination of words.
ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

An expanded definition is an important writing tool you will need if you are writing for a person who is not an expert or specialist in a particular subject. An expanded definition explains a complex or unfamiliar term to make it easier to understand which is important to effective communication. An extended definition may explain the word's etymology or historical roots, describe sensory characteristics of something (how it looks, feels, sounds, tastes, smells). It also may identify its parts, indicate how something is used, or even explain what it is not. It may provide an example of it, and/or note similarities or differences between words or things.
