Answer:

The correct answer would be "there is a reduction in the availability of nutrients away from the cost, which decreases primary production. Fewer producers and energy are available, leading to a decrease in biomass".

As we move in depth and distance from the coast the availability of sunlight decreases.

Thus, the number of primary producers would decrease as they would be unable to perform photosynthesis.

Consequently, the number of nutrients available at that depth would be very less as compared to the coast.

Hence, the carrying capacity of the region would be less which ultimately decreases the biomass.

Describe the appearance of the inside of the stomach. how do the rugae within the stomach aid in mechanical digestion?
sergejj [24]
When the stomach is empty, the walls are folded into rugae (stomach folds), which allows the stomach to expand as more food fills it.
In the stomach, food undergoes chemical and mechanical digestion. The peristaltic contractions churn the bolus, which mixes with strong digestive juices that the stomach lining secrete. The stomach walls contain three layers of smooth muscle arranged in longitudinal, circular, and oblique rows. These muscles allow the stomach to squeeze and churn the food during mechanical digestion.
