1. It's all about pattern matching, as a lot of math is.
Letter A corresponds to letter J, as both are first in the names of their respective triangles.
Letter B corresponds to letter K, as both are second in the triangle names. Likewise, letter C corresponds to letter L, as both are last.

Realizing this, it should not be too much of a stretch to see
   ∠B ⇒ ∠K
   ∠C ⇒ ∠L
   AC ⇒ JL
   BC ⇒ KL

2. Same deal. Match the patterns. Here, you're counting rings in the angle marks.
   1 ⇒ 1, so A ⇒ R
   2 ⇒ 2, so B ⇒ Q
since the figures are reportedly similar, you can continue in the same order to finish.
   ABCD ~ RQPS

3. The marked triangles cannot be similar. There are a number of ways to figure this. Basically, you want the ratios of sides to be the same for any similar triangles.

Here, you can eliminate the marked ones because the short side is too short relative to the others. (The average of the other two sides is double the short side in the similar triangles.)

lilavasa [31]
By definition, the volume of a cylinder is given by:
 V = π * r ^ 2 * h
 Where,
 r: cylinder radius
 h: height
 Clearing h we have:
 h = (V) / (π * r ^ 2)
 Substituting values:
 h = (36π) / (π * 3 ^ 2)
 h = (36π) / (9π)
 h = (36π) / (9π)
 h = 4 cm
 Answer:

The height of the liquid will be in the new cylinder about:

h = 4 cm

Kisachek [45]

Answer:

x^-5 = x to the power of negative 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Which of these is equivalent to 1 over x to the power of 5 ?

Mathematically this is expressed as

(1/x)⁵

We have a rule when it comes to expressing power

(1/a)^b = a^-b

Hence, applying this rule to our question

(1/x)⁵ = (1/x)^5

= x^-5

This is written in words as:

x to the power of negative 5

There are two racks with 40 towels per rack on Tuesday there were €30,000 on Wednesday 50 and on Thursday 25 what fraction on av
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

\frac{7}{16}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that are two racks with 40 towels per rack. On Tuesday there were 30, on Wednesday 50 and on Thursday 25. We are asked to find the fraction on average that is in use for the three days.

First of all, we will find total number of towel by multiplying 40 by 2.

\text{Total towels}=2\times 40

\text{Total towels}=80

Now we will find average number of towels used on three days.

\text{Average}=\frac{\text{Sum of numbers}}{\text{Total numbers}}

\text{Average}=\frac{30+50+25}{3}

\text{Average}=\frac{105}{3}

\text{Average}=35

Now we need to calculate 35 is what part of 80 to find the fractional use of towels per day as:

\text{Fractional use of towels per day}=\frac{35}{80}

\text{Fractional use of towels per day}=\frac{7}{16}

Therefore, \frac{7}{16} on average is in use for the three days.
