In order to sustain the resources of fossil fuel, the alternative sources of energy like renewable sources of energy should be used. Thus, the given statement is true.

Drip irrigation refers to the kind of micro-irrigation mechanism, which possesses the tendency to save water and nutrients by permitting water to drip gradually to the plant roots, either buried below the surface of the soil or from above the soil surface. Thus, the given statement, that is, drip irrigation uses more water and is not helpful in sustaining water use is false.

Disposing of mine waste, restricting erosion, and restricting water pollution from the mine assists in sustaining the use of land is true.

Clearance or deforestation refers to the removal of the stand of trees or a forest where the land is afterward transformed into a non-forest use. Thus, deforestation cannot be considered helpful in maintaining trees, hence the given statement is false.

Transcription starts at the template strand of DNA where mRNA attaches and is constructed from 5’ to 3’ direction. The nucleotides of the DNA strand is attached to either A, U, G, C ribosomal nucleotides. mRNA Dissembles when it reaches a terminating codon and then it attaches to ribosomal RNA where tRNA carries the amino and mRNA caries the code to construct proteins with the ribosome.

While there is only one species of Galapagos Island tortoise, there are several subspecies. Larger islands with more wet highlan
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

Tortoises with better adaptations in shell shape and leg length were selected to exploit the food resources on each island and, thus, they were capable of having more offspring.

Explanation:

Natural selection can be defined as the process of differential survival and reproduction in a given environment due to differences in their phenotypic traits. Thus, these phenotypic traits are selected to be better adapted to their environment. As a consequence of natural selection, organisms evolve by changing their phenotype frequencies over many generations. In this case, phenotypic differences are expressed as variations in shell shape and leg length, which are adaptive traits that were selected on each island.

Why do most plants appear green?
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer:

Most plants appear green because they absorb all other colors of light and reflect back green into our eyes. Since chlorophyll molecules use the red (opposite of green) end of the visible light spectrum to complete photosynthesis, then red is most heavily absorbed.

Extinction is the total loss of a species. How might changes in Habitat result in extinction?
ziro4ka [17]
ANSWER:

When a habitat is destroyed, the carrying capacity for indigenous plants, animals, and other organisms is reduced so that populations decline, sometimes up to the level of extinction. Habitat loss is perhaps the greatest threat to organisms and biodiversity.
