Distributive property basically means ---- say you have 3(4a + 2) what you are going to do is multiply the 3 and 4 together to make 12a then you are going to multiply 3 and 2 to get 6 so then 3(4a + 2) is going to turn into 12a + 6. does that make sense??

Dan is correct

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, we have:

Hours:1\ 2\ 3\ 4\ 5

Required

The average

The average hour is calculated using:

\bar x = \frac{\sum x}{n}

So, we have:

\bar x = \frac{1+2+3+4+5}{5}

\bar x = \frac{15}{5}

\bar x = 3

<em>Dan calculated the mean as 3; while Bret calculated the mean as 4.</em>

<em>Hence, we can conclude that Dan s correct</em>
