An Unforgetable day

I love pets but I cannot keep many in my small flat. I remember that ,some years ago , I had one female cat in my small city flat; I had lived with her for four years. It was on a Saturday evening. It was winter. I was walking along the pavement when I came across them: mother and daughter. She ran a stationary in the area and she was with her young daughter looking into a box. Someone had left two kittens in a box at the stationary door.

I stopped and looked at the girl. She was really sad. I did not want to keep another cat. I did not have enough room and I thought my cat would suffer. However, when I saw the girl , I felt different things. She looked very worried. Her mother told me they could not keep the kittens. The girl looked at me and I stroked the two kittens. " Can you keep one of them?", she asked me. At that moment, I saw one of the kittens climbing up my pair of jeans! I picked up that little cat , said good- bye to mother and daughter , and went back home.

I lived with my two cats till they got really old. I did not only live with them but with the girl's image in my mind. I had not only chosen to adopt a new pet but I had also chosen to make a little girl happy. That was great! I will always remember that wintry and dark Saturday evening.
