(25 points need help ASAP) Complete the inequality. (-3/8) / (-2 3/4) ___ 3/22
rewona [7]

Rewrite -2 3/4 as an improper fraction:

-2 3/4 = -11/4

Now you have -3/8  /  -11/4

When  you divide fractions, flip the second one over and multiply:

-3/8  x x-4/11 = (-3 x - 4) / (8 x 11) = 12/88 which reduces to 1/4

Now compare /4 to 3/22:

1/4 = 0.25

3/22 = 0.136

1/4 is greater than 3/22

The inequality becomes:

(-3/8) / (-2 3/4)  > 3/22

The owner of a miniature golf course asks you
Ierofanga [76]

The equation that describes the length of the first leg in terms of the second right triangle is F = 8/7S

<h3>The equation that relates the legs F and S of the triangle</h3>

The ratio is given as:

F : S = 8 : 7

Express as equation

F/S = 8/7

Multiply both sides by S

F = 8/7S

Hence, the equation is F = 8/7S

Find the area of the given region using any method.
S_A_V [24]

The best method would certainly be integration :)

The area is given by the integral,

\displaystyle\int_0^2\frac{\mathrm dx}{9-x^2}

We can split up the integrand into partial fractions:

\dfrac1{9-x^2}=\dfrac16\left(\dfrac1{3-x}+\dfrac1{3+x}\right)

Then the area is

\displaystyle\frac16\int_0^2\left(\frac1{3-x}+\frac1{3+x}\right)\,\mathrm dx

=\dfrac16(-\ln|3-x|+\ln|3+x|)\bigg|_0^2

=\dfrac16\left((\ln5-\ln1)-(\ln3-\ln3)\right)=\boxed{\dfrac{\ln5}6}
