Firstly, we will find equation of line

We can find equation of any line by selecting any two points

(10,20) and (15,12)

firstly , we will find slope

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

x1=10 , y1=20 , x2=15 and y2=12

m=\frac{12-20}{15-10}

m=-\frac{8}{5}

now, we can use point slope form of line

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

y-20=-\frac{8}{5}(x-10)

now, we can solve for y

y=-\frac{8}{5}x+36

x-intercept:

For finding x-intercept , we can set y=0

and then we can solve for x

0=-\frac{8}{5}x+36

x=\frac{45}{2}............Answer

y-intercept:

For finding y-intercept , we can set x=0

and then we can solve for y

y=-\frac{8}{5}*0+36

y=36............Answer

A fish swims upstream a distance of 16 miles in a river with a current of 3 miles per hour. The fish returns swimming
arlik [135]

Answer:

9 mph = the speed in still water

Step-by-step explanation:

Let r = the speed in still water

Then the speed going down stream is r + 3

and the speed going upstream is r - 3

d = rt   or t = d/r

time going downstream is 16/(r + 3) and time going upstream is 16/(r - 3)

The total time was 4 hours, so

\frac{16}{r + 3}  + \frac{16}{r - 3}  = 4   Multiply thru the equation by (r + 3)(r - 3)

Then 16(r - 3) + 16(r + 3) = 4(r + 3)(r - 3)

         16r - 48 + 16r + 48 = 4r^{2} - 36

         4r^{2} - 36 = 32r

         4r^{2} - 32r - 36 = 0

         4(r^{2}  - 8r - 9) = 0

         4(r - 9)(r + 1) = 0

             r = 9  or -1

But a rate of speed cannot be negative, so x ≠ -1

So, r = 9 mph = the speed in still water

for the polynomial f(x)=x^3-x^2-4x+4 how many zeros does the function have over the set of complex numbers
s344n2d4d5 [400]

The number of the zeroes of the function will be 3. Then the zeroes of the functions are -2, 1, and 2.

<h3>What is a factorization?</h3>

It is a method for dividing a polynomial into pieces that will be multiplied together. At this moment, the polynomial's value will be zero.

The equation is given below.

f(x) = x³ - x² - 4x + 4

Then the factor of the equation will be

f(x) = x²(x - 1) - 4(x - 1)

f(x) = (x² - 4)(x - 1)

f(x) = (x² - 2²)(x - 1)

f(x) = (x + 2)(x - 2)(x - 1)

Then the solution to the equation will be

(x + 2)(x - 2)(x - 1) = 0

x = -2, 1, 2

The number of the zeroes of the function will be 3. Then the zeroes of the functions are -2, 1, and 2.

More about the factorization link is given below.
