Answer :

1) If x = 6

Substitute 6 for x in the expression.

a) 5x-9

5(6)-9

30-9

21

b) 2x-7

2(6) -7

12-7

5

c) 8x+5

8(6)+5

48+5

53

d) 4(x+3)

4(6+3)

4(9)

36

e) x²-(-4)

6²-(-4)

36+4

40

f) 3x²+1

3(6²)+1

3(36) +1

108+1

109

2) Solve

a) 54 = 3x

Divide both sides by 3.

54/3 = 3x/3

x = 18

b) x-9 = -3

Add 9 to both sides.

x-9+9 = -3+9

x = 6

c) x/7 = 140

Express the 140 over 1 and cross multiply.

x/7 = 140/1

x = 140×7

x = 980

d) x/8 = 72

Express the 72 over 1 and cross multiply.

x/8 =72/1

x = 72×8

x = 576

What can be represented as fractions, rational numbers, or irrational numbers?
Delvig [45]
Hmm question is a little confusing but fractions can be represented as division or a part of somthing, like 4 pieces of an 8 slice pizza, or you have 8 peices of pizza and you divide them by 4. Im pretty sure a rational number is any number that can be representated as a fraction. an irrational number is something you  cant express as a fraction like the square root of a number or pi.

Which graph best represents the function f(x) = 3(1.5)x?
jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

B). graph of increasing exponential function going through point (0, 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given function is f\left(x\right)=3\left(1.5\right)^x

Now we need to find about which of the given choices best describes the given function. Where given choices are:

A). graph of increasing exponential function going through point 0, 2

B). graph of increasing exponential function going through point 0, 3

C). graph of increasing exponential function going through point 0, 1

D). graph of increasing exponential function going through point 0, 4

plug x=0 into given function

f\left(x\right)=3\left(1.5\right)^x

f\left(0\right)=3\left(1.5\right)^0=3(1)=3

Hence graph passes through point (0,3).

growth factor 1.5 is greater than 1 so that means it is increasing function.

Hence correct choice is:

B). graph of increasing exponential function going through point (0, 3)
