How do you do this problem: graph this function y=2x-1

In a linear function, the formula you are looking at is in point-slope form. y=mx+b

m is the slope. In this case, the slope is 2. slope is rise over run. 2 in fraction form is 2 over 1, meaning for every 1 unit you move on the x-axis, you'll move 2 units on the y-axis.

b is the y-intercept. The y-intercept is the point on the y-axis of the graph. Since the y-intercept is -1, you know one of the points is (0, -1). Place that point on your graph, then use the slope from earlier (rise 2, run 1) to add more points to the graph.

Consider the graph of the quadrasc function. Which intervalon the axis has a negative rate of change?2 to-11.5 to 00 to 11 to 25
pickupchik [31]
Negative rate of change just means the graph is falling. This one is falling everywhere after x=0.5. The only choice in that section of the graph is the last one.

Plsssssssssss help me!!! I’m not good at algebra!!
Elza [17]

Answer:

x=50

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a vertical angle, so the angle on top and the bottom are equal

[2(x+10)]=3x-30

2(x+10)=3x-30

2x+20=3x-30

50=x

P what equation in slope-intercept form represents the line that passes through the points (3,5) and (-9,2)
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

y =\frac{1}{5}x+\frac{22}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

To write the equation of a line, use the slope formula to first find the slope.

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=\frac{5-2}{3--9}=\frac{3}{3+12}=\frac{3}{15}=\frac{1}{5}

Substitute m=1/5 and the point (3,5) into point slope formula.

y-y_1 = m(x-x_1)\\y-5=\frac{1}{5}(x-3)\\y-5=\frac{1}{5}x -\frac{3}{5}\\y =\frac{1}{5}x+\frac{22}{5}
