Heuristics and algorithms differ in terms of their level of indirection from the solution. That is the difference between an algorithm and a heuristic is subtle, and the two terms overlap each other. An algorithm gives you the instructions directly where as A heuristic tells you how to discover the instructions for yourself, or at least where to look for them.
Phrenology is the study of the brain as the organ of the mind.
The Biological perspective reinforces and confirms this view.
This phenomenon is not rare in the animal kingdom. Known as alternative mating strategies, it is employed by a subgroup of males that are usually incapable of facing the larger males in direct confrontations.
These "sneaky males" as they are sometimes called, will employ alternative strategies to mate with females. Which strategy will be dominant is dependent on the environmental factors and is not permanent. In some conditions where food is not that abundant, there will be less larger males and thus, the smaller males employing this strategy will be more common. At other times the opposite will occur.
However, in most cases and most probably here, the end result will be a coexistence of this traditional and alternative mating strategy, where males will exhibit a greater diversity in phenotype.
The direct benefit of the herding behavior in the area marked "Z" is protection.
Typically animals that live in open spaces and are preyed upon often, such as zebras, will aggregate into very large groups. Thus, the chance of being singled out and killed decreases dramatically with increasing numbers of individuals.
Although they form a group, each individual animal will still act for its own benefit, instead of the benefit of the group. Because of this, during stampedes, some animals may be injured or even killed, not by predators, but by the other members of the herd.
