So, I think that you mean that

n²+m² is even? (the "plus" sign is missing, but I think this is correct).

this can only happen if either:

both n and m are even
or
both n and m are odd

That's because a sum of two expressions is even if either both or none of the expressions summed is even, and a power of a number is even only if the number is even too.

are those some of the options?

yes!
<span>n and m are even,- possible!
 n and m are odd, -possible!
n+m is even, - possible; it would be the case i</span><span>f either both n and m are even or both n and m are odd n+m is odd,

so the option we'll choose is:

none of these are impossible </span><span />

vova2212 [387]

Answer:

m=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

In the diagram

tan(\theta)=\frac{m}{1/2}=2m

tan(\theta)=\sqrt{3}

Equate

2m=\sqrt{3}

m=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

A sailboat drifts 600 meters west, makes a turn and sails 800 meters south. How far is the sailboat from its original position?
Bezzdna [24]
The <span>Pythagorean theorem</span> is what is most useful here, and a calculator; for the following...
Imagine forming a triangle by creating that last leg between the starting position and the ending position; the length of that side will be our missing variable "y".

600<span>² + 800</span>²= y<span>²

The sum of the two (600</span><span>² & 800</span>²) must then be square rooted to find the length

y² = 1,000,000 and the square root of y<span>²= 1,000 (YOUR ANSWER) "y"</span>
