I was taught to get a common denominator and then arrange them in the correct order.

So first you find out what all the denominations can be multiplied to. That would be 40

So you multiply the bottom of each fraction by a number that will get 40.

3/4 * 10 = 30/40

7/8 * 5 = 35/40

3/5 * 8 = 24/40

Then you get 30/40, 35/40, and 24/40.

Then you organize the m.

24/40, 30/40, and 35/40

Answer:

Distances in order from least to greatest:

,\frac{3}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

Three days last week Maria ran 3/4 mile 7/8 Mile and 3/5 mile.

\frac{3}{4},\frac{7}{8},\frac{3}{5}

In order to determine which distance is greater and which one is shorter we will make the denominators common of all the fractions.

Take LCM of 4,8,5;  2 × 2 × 2 × 5 = 40

\frac{3\times 10}{4\times 10},\frac{7\times 5}{8\times 5},\frac{3\times 8}{5\times 8}

\frac{30}{40},\frac{35}{40},\frac{24}{40}

As now the denominators are common we can easily arrange them in order from least to greatest.

\frac{24}{40}

Distances in order from least to greatest:

,\frac{3}{5}

Answer questions 15 and 17 show work pls
fredd [130]

Answer:

#15) B. 30 mn^5

#17) B. 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

<h2>#15:</h2>

The area of a trapezoid is given in the formula: 1/2(a + b) * h, where a is the length of the top of the trapezoid, b is the length of the bottom of the trapezoid, and h is the height of the trapezoid.

All of these measurements are given so all that you need to do is to substitute these values into the formula.

Substitute 3 for a, 9 for b, and 5 for h.

  • 1/2(3 + 9) * 5

Solve inside the parentheses first. Add 3 and 9.

  • 1/2(12) * 5

Multiply 12 and 1/2 together.

  • 6 * 5

Multiply 6 and 5.

  • 30

We need to figure out if the area is to the 5th or 6th power. When we added 3 and 9 together, we combined like terms so the exponent stayed to the 3rd power.

After multiplying this ^3 by the 5mn^2, the exponent becomes to the 5th power because you add exponents when multiplying.

Therefore the final answer is B. 30 mn^5.

<h2>#17:</h2>

When going down from 32 to 8 to 2, you can see that each number is being divided by 4.

32 / 4 = 8...

8 / 4 = 2...

So to find the next number in this sequence you would divide 2 by 4.

  • 2 / 4 = 1/2

The answer is B. 1/2.

Henry and reiko both used 1 yard of ribbon to make bows. write two different fractions to show that Henry and reiko use the same
Natalka [10]
To show that they used the same amount of ribbon you could take the 1 yard and divided into different sized equal groups.

1 yard divided by four equals 1/4 yard for each of four ribbons.

1 yard divided by six equals 1/6 yard for each of six ribbons.

You could have ribbons the size of 1/4 our yard and 1/6 yard, but you would have different amounts of each.
