designed to prevent the common injuries that can occur for each sport. While protective equipment does not completely eliminate the chance for injury, it does significantly reduce the risk.

Protective equipment is very helpful when playing sports because it minimizes the chance of getting hurt. With the protection you could still get hurt. One example of protective equipment is a helmet, it protects your head for the most part but you could still get a concussion even while wearing the helmet, but it prevents you from breaking your skull. so you would rather end up with a possible concussion instead by wearing the helmet
