Explanation:

During the Industrial Revolution, working conditions in factories were bad. The technology was still undeveloped, fires happened on a regular basis and there was no safety protocol.

There was no regulation by governments and workers did not have any work rights.

Cheap labor was the rule, machines did not require skills, and because of that, women and children were often hired to work for half the wages of men. This caused even more accidents and often deaths in factories.
