So you first want to move all variables to one side.

2x = 1/8 + 4x

So perform the opposite of each operation to move it.

2x - 4x = 1/8 + 4x - 4x

-2x = 1/8

And then just divide both sides by -2

-2x / -2 = 1/8 / -2

x = -1/16

20. what us the area of the figure:
Varvara68 [4.7K]
If the angle in B is 45º, that means the angle in A is also going to be 45º, considering it's a right triangle, so AC and BC are they have the same length.
Then using Pythagoras, you'll get that AC^{2} + BC^{2} equals AB^{2} .
Now, you know that AC=BC and that AB=24.
So you'll get 2AC^{2} =24^2 . You do the square root in both sides and you get that 2AC=24 and AC=12.

Now that you know that both AC and BC equal 12, you can find the area by just multiplying them and then diving them by 2. (The formula for the area of a triangle is half base multiplied by height, and in a right triangle, if a cathetus is the base, the other cathetus<span> will be the height)

And so the area is equal to 72.</span>

A 16-cup container of laundry detergent costs $13.60. What is the price per quart?
777dan777 [17]

Answer:

$0.21

Step-by-step explanation:

So, first let's find the cost of a single cup.

16/13.60 = 1/0.85

Now, we know that each cup is approximately $0.85. Next, we must convert cups into quarts. 1 cup = 0.25 quarts.

1/0.85 = 0.25/0.21

A path is 0.75 m wide. Mr. Kassel extends the width by placing blocks 20 cm wide on each side of the pathl. What is the new widt
Nuetrik [128]
We know that there are 100 cm in 1 m. We can convert 0.75 m to cm by multiplying by 100 to give us:

0.75m*100=75cm

Therefore the path before the addition is 75 cm wide.

Mr. Kassel added 20 cm of blocks on each side of the path, meaning that the added width is actually 40 cm total (20 on each side, and there are 2 sides).

So we need to add 40 cm to the original 75 cm:

40cm+75cm=115cm

So now we have the width of the path in cm, the question asks for the width in meters. We can do this by dividing the width in cm by 100 to get the width in meters:

\frac{115cm}{100}=1.15m

Now we know that the new width of the path is 1.15 m.

Merry is certain that every time she parks in the municipal garage it cost her at least $2.20. If the garage charges .45 plus .2
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

The time for which parking charge taken is 3.5 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The total cost paid by Merry for car parking = $2.20

The charge taken by garage for parking is as ( $0.45 ) +( $0.25 for each half hour)

Let the Time taken as half hour = x

So, According to question

0.45 + 0.25 × x = $2.20

Or, 0.25 × x = $2.20 - $0.45

I.e 0.25 × x = $ 1.75

∴   x = $ (\frac{1.75}{0.25} =  7

So,Total time spend = \frac{7}{2} = 3.5 hours

Hence The time for which parking charge taken is 3.5 hours     Answer
