Four characteristics of agrarian societies include: more social organization (B), surplus food (D), fewer technical advances (F) and depletion of the soil (G).
An agrarian society, also called agricultural society, refers to any society whose economy is based on producing and maintaining crops and their lands. Another way to define an agrarian society is to see the total amount of production in a nation. In an agrarian society, cultivating the land is the main source of wealth. Such a society can recognize other means of subsistence and work habits but emphasizes the importance of agriculture and livestock. Agrarian societies have existed in various parts of the world for 10,000 years and continue to exist today. They have been the most common form of socio-economic organization for most of recorded human history.
