Harrison definitely knew that what he was doing would get him into trouble. It is possible that he knew he would get killed, but we don't know that for sure. Nevertheless, Harrison still rebelled against society by dancing with the ballerina. Vonnegut was showing that someone people would rather die or suffer horrible consequences than obey government orders.
