The Concordat of 1801 was an agreement reached between Napoleon and the Roman Pope Pius VII. It would last until 1805.

The objective was to reach national reconciliation between French revolutionaries and Catholics, positioning the Roman Catholic Church again as the major one in France and to restore the status of this institution. The clergy returned either from the exile or from hiding, and assumed again their traditional roles in the churches. The church properties that were seized and sold off during the revolution were not restored.

The accomplishment of Concordat of 1801 was that it reached national reconciliation between French revolutionaries and Catholics, positioning the Roman Catholic Church again as the major one in France and to restore the status of this institution.

Further Explanations:

The Concordat of 1801 was an agreement amid “Napoleon” and “Pope Pius VII”, signed on 15th July 1801 and remained ineffective until 1905. It hunted national reconciliation amid mutineers and Catholics and stated the “Roman Catholic Church” as the popular church of France. It restored most of its political status. The significant clause of the Concordat was the declaration that "Catholicism” was the creed of the great majority in France but not the formal state religion and thus maintained the religious freedom with respect to Protestants.

The need for the Concordat was the financial condition of the nation during the era. When the “French Revolution” broke out in 1789 with the purpose to address the financial problems it too created financial stability in the realm. Numerous other wars of the 18th century that involved France compelled the government to spend more funds than it received as revenue.

What happened along the United States-Canadian border during the Embargo Act of 1807?
soldi70 [24.7K]
Smuggling--The Embargo Act completely restricted US trade and the New Englanders could trade easily with Great Britain through Canada.

The Embargo Act was put into place during the Napoleonic Wars between Britain and France. Great Britain was taking over US ships and forcing citizens to fight for the British army/navy. Jefferson responded with an embargo to force Britain to stop through economic means. However smuggling made the embargo ineffective as well as a lack of support from NE Federalists.

How did the conflict in Israel and Palestine emerge from competing national movements?
Musya8 [376]
As the periodic bloodshed continues in the Middle East, the search for an equitable solution must come to grips with the root cause of the conflict. The conventional wisdom is that, even if both sides are at fault, the Palestinians are irrational “terrorists” who have no point of view worth listening to. Our position, however, is that the Palestinians have a real grievance: their homeland for over a thousand years was taken, without their consent and mostly by force, during the creation of the state of Israel. And all subsequent crimes — on both sides — inevitably follow from this original injustice.

Why was the date of inauguration changed after the 1933 inauguration?
Please help
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

Because the U.S. Constitution originally stipulated that the Federal Government would start on March 4th each year. FDR's first inauguration in 1933 was the last inauguration held in March. The inauguration date was changed with the passage of the 20th Amendment, which moved the date up to January 20th.
