Which best describes W. E. B. Du Bois's opinion of Booker T. Washington’s accommodationist approach?
Rainbow [258]
It reinforced segregation and discrimination.

Booker T. Washington (1856-1915) advocated gradualism.  That meant being patient and doing what white society would allow, which meant changes and better times for blacks would come slowly.

A different point of view was taken by W.E.B. Du Bois (1868-1963).  Du Bois noted that Washington's approach was not accomplishing any real gains for blacks.  He also felt that Washington's point of view showed acceptance of the racial inferiority of blacks.  Plus he saw that institutions in the black community were being dominated by persons like Washington, rather than really empowering all individuals for themselves.  Du Bois argued that all black citizens should have the right to vote, equality as citizens, and access to education according to their abilities, and his approach was more confrontational, attacking segregation using protests, lawsuits, and publications.   Du Bois was strongly active in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

Follow these steps to complete the graded assignment for this unit. Use Internet or library resources to research the Treaty of
horsena [70]

Answer:

The terms of the treaty required that Germany pay financial reparations, disarm, lose territory, and give up all of its overseas colonies. It also called for the creation of the League of Nations, an institution that President Woodrow Wilson strongly supported and had originally outlined in his Fourteen Points address

The main leaders at Versailles were Clemenceau (France), Lloyd George (Britain) and Wilson (USA). They set these terms because they were the victors, they blamed Germany for the conflict, they could take desired territory, and they wanted to make sure that Germany could never launch another attack

How did the Germans respond to the Treaty?

How did Germany react to the Treaty? Reactions to the Treaty in Germany were very negative. There were protests in the German Reichstag (Parliament) and out on the streets. ... There were also the humiliating terms, which made Germany accept blame for the war, limit their armed forces and pay reparations.

Alexandra [31]

religious reforms, interests in social issues, new forms of lit., artistic achievements, exploration and colonization

The Renaissance is a period in European history, covering the span between the 14th and 17th centuries. It is an extension of the Middle Ages, and is bridged by the Age of Enlightenment to modern history. It grew in fragments, with the very first traces found seemingly in Italy, coming to cover much of Europe, for some scholars marking the beginning of the modern age.
