Roosevelt is telling the American public that maintaining an isolationist policy amidst the war will not protect them. All the freedoms that he listed on his speech would be threatened by the march of the Axis powers and it would be a matter of time when they have to confront this threat.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was performing the " Four Freedom" speech through the time of the world war which was a period of suffering between Americans. He is declaring that Americans should not accept that they are totally safe from the war and should be prepared to make certain deductions to defend not only the United States of America but also the foundation of the world. Roosevelt is also making clear that if Germany happens to win the war the American government may fall.

Answer:

I assume you meant to ask, "What is a simile <em>in </em>"The Hands of an Angry God." So, one example is the simile in which the author compares God's wrath to a terrible flood (“The wrath of God is like great waters that are dammed for the present...”).

Read the following passage:
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

B. The patient will immediately spike a fever, followed by fits of chills and sweats.

Explanation:

The sentences follow a structure that start with a time period and follow with a happening. This is the case here in option B. The time period is when "<em>the patient will immediately spike a fever"</em>. What happens is that it will be <em>"followed by fits of chills and sweats"</em>. Also, this is the only option that is divided in two by a comma, which happens in all sentences os the excerpt.

Helen [10]

Answer:

B. inference

Explanation:

When the author states that "All the world's a stage" we cannot see any context clue in the same sentence, but in the last sentence of that paragraph that states "His acts being seven ages." This is an example of an inference context clue.

This type of context clue allows an unknown word or expression not to be explained immediately, but during the reading of the text, as is done in the text shown in the question above.
