The celebrated speech "I have a dream" by Martin Luther King Jr., uses the rhetorical device of parallelism in most of its structure, which is emphasizing an idea by the use of parts of sentences that are grammatically the same or are similar in construction. This is the case of the last four sentences of the speech at which all of them begin with the line "Now is the time..." as follows "Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children."
