History

In the wake of the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE, Chandragupta (or Chandragupta Maurya), founder of the Mauryan dynasty, carved out the majority of an empire that encompassed most of the Indian subcontinent, except for the Tamil-speaking south. The Mauryan empire was an efficient and highly organized autocracy with a standing army and civil service. That bureaucracy and its operation were the model for the Artha-shastra (“The Science of Material Gain”), a work of political economy similar in tone and scope to Niccolò Machiavelli’s The Prince.

Much is known of the reign of the Buddhist Mauryan emperor Ashoka (reigned c. 265–238 BCE or c. 273–232 BCE) from the edicts inscribed on exquisitely executed stone pillars that he had erected throughout his realm. Those edicts constitute some of the oldest deciphered original texts of India. Ashoka campaigned little to expand the realm; rather, his conquest consisted of sending many Buddhist emissaries throughout Asia and commissioning some of the finest works of ancient Indian art.

After Ashoka’s death the empire shrank because of invasions, defections by southern princes, and quarrels over ascension. The last ruler, Brihadratha, was killed in 185 BCE by his Brahman commander in chief, Pushyamitra, who then founded the Shunga dynasty, which ruled in central India for about a century.

What is the maximum number of turns for the graph of f(x)=x^4+3x^2?
ohaa [14]

Answer:

The turns of a graph is represented by the number of maximum or minimum that the function has.

If we differenciate f(x) we get:

f'(x)=4x^3+6x

f'(x)=2x(2x^2 + 3)

Therefore f'(x) =0, when x=0. Given that negative roots are not defined.

Therefore, the number of turns will be given by the number of solutions of f'(x) which is 1.

Attached you find the graph of the function which confirms the number of turns.

If the function had other solutions, the maximum number of turns it could have is 3! because f'(x) is a third degree polynomial, therefore it can't have more than 3 solutions!

Can someone briefly summarize the trojan war about what happened between the goddess and the golden apple? EMERGENCY!
marin [14]
<span>The goddess of discord (Eris), unhappy to have not been invited to a marriage, threw a golden apple on a table and claimed that it belonged to the fairest goddess. Athena, Hera and Aphrodite all claimed the apple, and Paris was taken to decide who should have it. Aphrodite promised him the most beautiful women that existed if he chose her, which he thus did, hence she told him he could claim Helen (the wife of Menelaus, Sparta's king) as his wife. The abduction of Helen by Paris started the trojan war.</span>

Vladimir [108]

Answer:

1. In a year

2.  Gross Domestic Product

3.  government

Explanation:

1. The methods of macroeconomic measurement usually cover periods of a year (GDP, Power Purchasing Parity).

2.  GDP means Gross Domestic Product, all the good and services produced by an economy in one year.

3. Governments usually buy road building and military equipment; building infrastructure and purchases of military materiel for an army are government jobs, not the job of private companies.
