Hey there!

To start, first simplify your expression by distributing your values to the equation inside the parenthesis:
<span>5(-3x - 2) - (x - 3) = -4(4x + 5) + 13
(5*-3x)+(5*-2)-x-3=(-4+4x)+(-4*5)+13
-15x-10-x-3=-16x-20+13

Now, combine your like terms, or terms that are raised to the same power and have the same variables that are also raised to the same power:
</span>-15x-10-x-3=-16x-20+13
(-15x-x)+(-10-3)=-16x+(-20+13)
-16x-7=-16x-7

Because your equation is set equal to itself, your answer would be all real solutions as any real number can be plugged into the variable and have a valid answer.

Hope this helps and have a wonderful day! :)

First we should simplify!

to do this you need to use the distributive property

-15x - 10 - x + 3 = -16x -20 + 13

now add like terms

-16x - 7 = -16x -7

this is true

S = {Reals}

S means set
{reals} means all real numbers

i hope this helps !!

I CAN BE MARKING YOU BRAINLIST. At a bowling alley, 4 out of 13 bowlers bowled a strike during their game. Use this information
Fantom [35]

you can easily solve it by equating the fractions 4/13 and x/91

here, we suppose x as the number of people who can bowl.

4/13=x/91

or, 4/13×91=x (divide 91 by 13)

or, x=4×7

therefore, x=28

easy peesy lemon squeezy ;-)

Howwww????? Answers?????
Dima020 [189]

If we want to share the money in equal parts, we have to consider that Eli has 9 shares, Freda has 13 shares and Geoff has 18 shares. So, in total, we have to split the money in

9+13+18 = 40

parts. So, each part is

\dfrac{800}{40} = \dfrac{80}{4} = 20£

Now, we distribute the shares:

  • Eli has 9 shares, so she must receive 20\cdot 9 = 180£
  • Freda has 13 shares, so she must receive 20\cdot 13 = 260£
  • Geoff has 18 shares, so he must receive 20\cdot 18 = 360£
