We are given: Degrees Celsius and degrees Fahrenheit are related by formula

C=\frac{5}{9} (F-32)

To find : Solve formula for F in terms of C.

Solution: We have , C=\frac{5}{9} (F-32)

First we need to get rid 9 from right denominator.

In order to get rid 9 from right denominator, we need to multiply equation both sides by 9.

9*C=9*\frac{5}{9} (F-32)

9C = 5 (F-32).

Distributing 5 on right side over (F-32), we get 5*F - 5*32 = 5F - 160.

9C = 5F - 160.

Adding 160 on both sides,

9C+160 = 5F - 160+160.

9C+160 =5F

Dividing both sides by 5, we get

(9C+160)/5 =5F/5.

\frac{9C+160}{5}=F

Splitting fraction 1/5, we get

F= \frac{1}{5} (9C+160).

7.  tails, odd, 4

P(tails) = 1/2

P(odd) = 3/6 = 1/2

P(4) = 1/6

P(tails then odd then 4) = (1/2)×(1/2)×(1/6) = 1/24 ≈ 0.041666

Answer: 1/24, 4.2%

8.  tails, 6 or 1, 3

P(6 or 1) = 2/6 = 1/3

P(3) = 1/6

P( tails, 6 or 1, 3) = (1/2)(1/3)(1/6) = 1/36 ≈ 0.027777

Answer: 1/36, 2.8%

9.  heads, not 2, even

P(heads) = 1/2

P(not 2) = 5/6

P(even) = 1/2

P(heads, not 2, even) = (1/2)(5/6)(1/2) = 5/24 ≈ 0.208333

Answer: 5/24, 20.8%

In ∆JKL, j=7.9inches, k=2 inches and l =9.8. find the measure of
____ [38]

By cosine rule,

\cos K=\frac{j^2+l^2-k^2}{2jl}

Where j = 7.9 inch, k = 2 inch and l = 9.8

\cos K=\frac{7.9^2+9.8^2-2^2}{2\times7.9\times9.8}=\frac{154.45}{154.84}=0.99748\begin{gathered} \cos K=0.99748 \\ K=\cos ^{-1}0.99748=4.067\approx4^o \end{gathered}

Solution: The measure of angle K is 4 degrees
