Answer :

To answer the question above, we need to know the rules of arithmetic operations in algebra. The same variable only can be operated with the same variable for example, if 2x + 3x then the result is 5x, but 2x + 3y cannot be 5xy because the variable is different. To answer the question we need to know the value of r and s. Now, check the question, what is the result of the equation 3r = 10 + 5s, when r = 10?.

To find out the value of s, the value of r is known so we just include it to the equation.

r = 10 then 3r = 3 . (10) = 30

3r = 10 + 5s

30 = 10 + 5s

(because there are 2 Constanta and 1 variable, we must change the place and the value of 1 Constanta to operate them)

30 = 10 + 5s

30 - 10 = 5s

(10 changed to -10 because it moves to the other side of the equal sign)

20 = 5s

(to find out the value of s or a variable, we need to divide Constanta with coeffitient in remaining)

20/5 = s

4 = s, so the value of s is 4

now we finish the first equation which is 3r = 10 + 5s, we just include the value of the variable then finish it.

3r = 10 + 5s

3 . (10) = 10 + 5 . (4)

30 = 10 + 20

30 = 30

because they have the same result, it means the value of variables was right. so the final result of the question is 30.

S = 4

3(10) = 10 + 5s
30 = 10 + 5s
30 - 10 = 5s
20 = 5s
20 ÷ 5 = s
4 = s

How much medicine should he add to the food?
quester [9]

Answer:

Paul should give 18 teaspoons of medicine to his dog.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is stated in the question that for every 12 pounds, 3 teaspoons of medicine is to be given to the dog.

This implies that:

12 pounds = 3 teaspoons

1 pound = 3/12 teaspoons

             = 1/4 teaspoons                       ( by cross multiplication )

72 pounds = 1/4 * 72 teaspoons

                   = 18 teaspoons

Hence, Paul should add 18 teaspoons of medicine to his dog's food.

Answer:

  f(x) = 6x +1

Step-by-step explanation:

Differences in x-values (first row) are 1, 1, 1.

Differences in y-values (second row) are 6, 6, 6.

The constant ratio of differences (6/1) tells you the function is linear, and has a slope of m = 6/1 = 6.

Using the first point in the form ...

  y = mx + b

we have ...

  y = 6x + b

  7 = 6·1 + b . . . . (x, y) = (1, 7)

  1 = b . . . . . . subtract 6

Then the equation can be written ...

  y = 6x +1

In functional form, this is ...

  f(x) = 6x +1

First picture)
I: 5x+2y=-4
II: -3x+2y=12

add I+(-1*II):
5x+2y-(-3x+2y)=-4-12
8x=-16
x=-2

insert x=-2 into I:
5*(-2)+2y=-4
-10+2y=-4
2y=6
y=3

(-2,3)

question 6)
I: totalcost=115=3*childs+5*adults
II: 33=adults+childs
33-adults=childs

insert childs into I:
115=3*(33-adults)+5*adults
115=99-3*adults+5*adults
16=2*adults
8=adults

insert adults into II:
33-8=childs
25=childs

so it's the last option

question 7)
a) y<6 and y>2 can also be written as 2<y<6, so solution 3 exist for example
b) y>6 and y>2 can also be written as 2<6<y, so solution 7 exist for example
c) y<6 and y<2 inverse of b: y<2<6, so for example 1
d) y>6 and y<2: y<2<6<y, this is impossible as y can be only either bigger or smaller than 2 or 6

so it's the last option

question 8)
I: x+y=12
II: x-y=6

subtract: I-II:
x+y-(x-y)=12-6
2y=6
y=3

insert y into I:
x+3=12
x=9

(9,3)

question 9)
I: x+y=6
II: x=y+5

if you take the x=y+5 definition of II and substitute it into I:
(y+5)+y=6

which is the second option :)

What whole number dimensions would allow the students to maximize the volume while keeping the surface area at most 160 square f
ycow [4]

Answer:

The whole number dimension that would allow the student to maximize the volume while keeping the surface area at most 160 square is 6 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we are required find the size of the sides of a dunk tank (cube with open top) such that the surface area is ≤ 160 ft²

For maximum volume, the side length, s of the cube must all be equal ;

Therefore area of one side = s²

Number of sides in a cube with top open = 5 sides

Area of surface = 5 × s² = 180

Therefore s² = 180/5 = 36

s² = 36

s = √36 = 6 ft

Therefore, the whole number dimension that would allow the student to maximize the volume while keeping the surface area at most 160 square = 6 ft.
