The accompanying table summarizes successes and failures when subjects used different methods when trying to stop smoking. The d

etermination of smoking or not smoking was made five months after the treatment was begun. If we test the claim that success is independent of the method used, the technology provides a P-value of 0.019 (rounded). What does the P-value tell us about that claim?

Answer:

Check the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Because the P-value of 0.19 small(such as 0.05 or lower), accept the null hypothesis of independence between the treatment and whether the subject stops smoking. This suggests that the choice of treatment is insignificant.

P-value>0.05 , we accept the null hypothesis. When the P-value is greater than 0.05 , the test is insignificant.

This means that the choice of treatment is insignificant.

How many numbers

are reciprocal of themselves?
const2013 [10]

Answer:

  two: +1 and -1

Step-by-step explanation:

If a number is equal to its own reciprocal, it will satisfy the equation ...

  x = 1/x

Multiplying by x and subtracting 1 gives ...

  x^2 -1 = 0

This factors as ...

  (x -1)(x +1) = 0

By the zero product rule, the solutions are those values of x that make one or more factors zero:

  x = 1

  x = -1

There are two self-reciprocals.

Which method is valid for proving that two circles are similar?
Grace [21]
First:

a. ratio of the diameter to the radius
       the ratio of the diameter to the radius for any circle is always going to be 2:1 because the diameter is 2 times the legnth of the radius any time so A is not the right answer

b. the degrees of the circle is always 360, the circumference is the distance around the circle, so that would be a good indicator since 360 is constant, but the circumference can change, and if they are the same, then the circles are similar. so B is the right answer

c. Ratio of area to circumference. area=pir^2, and circumference=2pir
this is a good indicator becuase the ratio of the area and the circumference is different for every circle so c is the right answer

D. the ratio of the diameter to the circumference diameter=2r circumference=2pir
circumference=pi time diameter so the ratio of the diameter is 1:pi
this is not a good indicator so this is not the right answer

The answers are B and D, but if the teacher asks for only one, then I would pick c

PLZ HELP ASAP

!!!!!!
notsponge [240]

Answer:

m<A = 133

Step-by-step explanation:

Opposite angles of an inscribed quadrilateral are supplementary.

That means that m<A + m<C = 180.

m<A + m<C = 180

4x + 5 + x + 15 = 180

5x + 20 = 180

5x = 160

x = 32

m<A = 4x + 5

m<A = 4(32) + 5

m<A = 128 + 5

m<A = 133
