I know that, currently, a big arguement in religion is whether or not the King James version of the Bible is as accurate as we all once believed. This is due to its origin.
When the KJV Bible was created, there were hundreds of versions of the Bible and King James was like "Woah, this is too many for me, man". So he had his peeps go out and was like "Go take all the pieces of the multiple Bibles out there and put them together in a way that makes sense and I'll pick my favorite". As you can imagine, that's not the best way to preserve history, especially one that makes such large claims.
