The main idea of Truman's statement about the use of atomic weapons was that Truman wanted to end the war with Japan, however Truman blamed the communist Soviet Union for the Chinese Insurgents. The atomic bomb was authorized by Harry Truman, to save the lives of young Americans and win the war against Japan.

What part of the agricultural adjustment act was considered controversial
shtirl [24]

It gave the government the power to try to raise farm prices by setting production quotas and paying farmers to plant less food.- Seemed ridiculous to hungry Americans to pay farmers to not provide food and only property owning farmers actually saw the benefits of the Act (particularly affected African Americans poorly).- Supreme Court struck down the Act in U.S. vs Butler due to direct government intervention in economy

Which of the following describes the great migration of the 1900's
densk [106]

I have no clue of "which of the following" because i cannot see the answers but,

The Great Migration, or the relocation of more than 6 million African Americans from the rural South to the cities of the North, Midwest and West from 1916 to 1970, had a huge impact on urban life in the United States. Driven from their homes by unsatisfactory economic opportunities and harsh segregationist laws, many blacks headed north, where they took advantage of the need for industrial workers that first arose during the First World War. As Chicago, New York and other cities saw their black populations expand exponentially, migrants were forced to deal with poor working conditions and competition for living space, as well as widespread racism and prejudice. During the Great Migration, African Americans began to build a new place for themselves in public life, actively confronting economic, political and social challenges and creating a new black urban culture that would exert enormous influence in the decades to come.

xxMikexx [17]

Although the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) had strong popular support when it passed both the House and the Senate in 1972, it failed to become a constitutional amendment because the feminist movement had made so many gains in eliminating gender discrimination.

Failure of Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)

 • The feminist movement had achieved so much in the fight against sexism in areas like employment and education that it did not necessarily seem necessary for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to pass both the House and the Senate in 1972, despite the fact that it had strong public support at the time. As a result, the ERA did not become a constitutional amendment.
 • The Equal Rights Amendment ultimately failed to be ratified by the required 38, or three-fourths, of the states by the deadline set by Congress because of a conservative backlash against feminism.
 • Because a state's legislature must pass it through both houses in the same session in order for it to be considered ratified, it failed in those states.
