Counter claim: Opposing or alternate positions on a certain topic.

EXAMPLE "Claim"  Detroit is the best team in the NFL this week.

EXAMPLE "Counter Claim" They are not the best team because they are not

leading their division.

A counterclaim is a statement that attempts to prove the claim wrong. For example, claim: all birds are blue. Counterclaim: some birds are green, too.
