Ok ummm I honestly don’t know I’m so sorry I couldn’t help you wit this prob
You have to use the Pythagorean theorem but there is a little twist here since a square has has equal sides. So:
x^2+x^2=8
2x^2=8
2/2x^2=8/2
x^2=4
√x^2=√4
x=2
The side of the square is 2.
So now the area of a square is:
Side×Side
2×2=4
The area of the square is 4 centimetres
Given:
Base of a right triangle = 7 in
Height of a right triangle = a
Hypotenuse = 16 in
To find:
The length of side a.
Solution:
Using Pythagoras theorem:

Subtract 49 from both sides.

Taking square root on both sides, we get
a = 14.4
The length of side a is 14.4 in.
Supplementary would be like 6&7 or 2&3 and vertical would be like 6&8 or 7&5
You would use “square units”
Hope this helps ;)
