Resistance to British rule in southern Africa was led by the Zulus, or the Zulu Empire.

The Zulus are a Bantu ethnic group of Southern Africa, and they resisted British rule in 1878. The British ordered the Zulus to disband their army and accept British sovereignty, but Cetshwayo, king of the Zulu Empire at the time, refused, and war broke loose. However, they were defeated in the Battle of Ulundi.

REY [17]
Although Britain continues to operate according to the principle of parliamentary sovereignty and has never adopted a single written document, such as one resembling the U.S. Constitution, British citizens still look to the Magna Carta, as well as the later Petition of Right (1628) and English Bill of Rights (1689).
